Discovering the Monk-Coltrane tapes

I’ve been fortunate to spend most of my career at the Library of Congress, and lucky to have discovered many treasures there over the years. But this recording resonated more than any other (so far). The tapes were discovered at LC in 2005 and subsequently released on CD by Blue Note and on vinyl by Mosaic.
